How many of you agree that business is quite a complex matter and that for a good business result, we need, among other things, really well-prepared individuals who act as a well-played team?
And what did come to your mind when reading the word "the team"?
"Sport", right?
Yes, business is a team sport, even if you are the only person employed by the company. And it is the same in sports. The top individual athlets like skiers Tina Maze, Bode Miller and Mikaela Shiffrin are/were not alone but have/had a pretty good team around them. The comparison is therefore totally meaningful.
Comparing business and sports, I cannot overlook another extremely important aspect ... which is a "must" in sports, but with very little attention paid to in business.
Psychological readiness.
Quite normal, even worn out, we already find the journalist's question to the athlete: "How did you feel before or during the competition?"
And what about YOU… Has a journalist ever asked you: “How did you feel when signing this contract?” Were you completely calm, relaxed, happy? Or did you feel uncomfortable, under pressure, maybe even in a crunch because "we desperately needed this contract/business to assure the liquidity of the company"?
Is there any difference between an athlete and a businessman in this regard?
No, not at all.
The psychic works, whether we are willing to admit it or not.
At athletes this is reflected in their results. Has any of your favourite athletes ever achieved a top result when being cramped?
And in business it is reflected in the business results; mainly financial.
Let's have a look now at the psychological readiness of the team.
For a top (team) result is it enough if only its captain is well prepared psychologically?
And what is the differenca if the vast majority of the team, or even everyone, is well prepared psychologically?
And if we already realized that business is usually a team sport ...
… Let me ask you this question … What would “better psychological readiness” of your team mean for your business performance? You think it is not necessary or you see it as an opportunity?
Imagine that your employees remove unconscious obstacles and unleash their full potential to confidently sell or enthusiastically develop new products … to be able to focus fully on their work and achieve top results?!
And another question. If you could offer your employees a specific "mind training" that is guaranteed to contribute to the success of the company, would you take such an opportunity or not?
